“Dhaniram Ko Goru”: Story of a Village Farmer

Kathmandu: The play “Dhaniram Ko Goru” is being staged at Pokhara Theatre.

The play is based on a social theme. The drama tries to depict the story of the agricultural sector of rural areas, and the grievances and problems of the village farmers boldly. It also reflects the scenario of the young generation going abroad and its impact on agriculture.

It is not just the story of the character Dhaniram but also about our social environment which presents the pain of the farmers in rural areas. The drama presents the struggle of the village farmers when they abandon traditional agriculture and embrace modernization. Unfortunately, the arable land is barren because of a shortage of skilled manpower in agriculture. The drama presents how the talk of the agricultural revolution is only limited to slogans.

Actors Dil Prasad Gurung, Vibhu Prasad Bhusal, Sabitra Pathak (Subu), Jyoti Hamal, Sitla Adhikari, Suman Karki, Ramhari Adhikari, Divya Amrit, Arjun Gurung, Pawan Vick, Abhishek Bhushal, Dipendra Paudel are the actors in the play. Kedar Nath Paudel has written the drama. And Kapil Sharma is the director of the play. Padma Theatre has produced it.

The everyday show timing has been scheduled to 5 p.m. An additional show has been scheduled at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The last show of the play is on 10th February (Magh 27).
