Nepali Youths pleading with Indian Government for rescue from Russia

Kathmandu: Nepali youths, who are stranded in conflict-ridden Russia, have been pleading with the Government of India for their rescue.

Since Sunday, videos of Nepali youths pleading for help have been circulating on social media. According to a post by a user named Shalu Yadav, Nepali Youths were lured to Russia under the pretext of foreign employment as support staff for the Russian army. But, after reaching the area, they were compelled to participate in the battle.

The youths said that the Indians, who came to Russia with them, were rescued by the Government of India. So, the youths appealed to even rescue them as they were not getting help from the Government of Nepal. They said out of 30 groups of individuals, only five are alive.

They have stated, ‘The Indian friends who were with us have been rescued by the Indian government. Nepal and India share a good relationship. Since the Embassy of Nepal is not paying any attention to our appeal, we request the Indian government to rescue us now.’

In December, the Nepali government appealed to the Russian government to repatriate its citizens, but the Nepali youths have still not returned to Nepal. Some remain missing in Russia.
