ANFA Vice President Dawa Lama released

Kathmandu: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Vice President Dawa Lama has been released from custody.

The team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation arrested Lama on Wednesday, in a case of drugs. He was presented to Patan High Court on Thursday. AIG Deepak Thapa said Lama was released after it was revealed that he took an order from the Supreme Court to keep him on trial.

Patan High Court sentenced Lama to 5 years imprisonment on 19 May 2007 (Jestha 5, 2064) in charge of involvement in the sale of brown heroin drugs. But he absconded without paying his bail and was even on the ANFA executive committee.
