Dr. C.K. Raut asks RSP to review recent by-election result

Kathmandu: Janamat Party Chairperson Dr. C.K. Raut has commented upon the recent results of the by-election. He said that the by-election showed the position of the new parties.

Dr. Raut commented about the situation on social media, indicating Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), after the announcement of the Ilam by-election result. He said that the same system would not bring anything in 2084 Bikram Sambat.

Similarly, Dr. Raut added that there would be the dominance of old parties and characters. He mentioned that the Janamat Party received 118 votes (0.17 percent votes) and RSP 7.3 percent votes.

Dr. Raut said that people must rethink the ideologies of the political parties. He asked how could the public expect political upheaval from new parties when they were voting for the old parties.

Likewise, Dr. Raut also asked RSP to review the recent by-election result as the party was planning to win with a two-thirds majority in the elections of 2084 B.S. He mentioned that RSP even refused his multiple proposals to participate in the demonstration and was staying to win the elections.

Nembang secured 27,772 votes, while his nearest rival Dambar Bahadur Khadka from Nepali Congress got 21,942 votes, according to chief returning officer, Keshav Prasad Ghimire. The UML candidate was also backed by Nepal Pariwar Dal.

Similarly, Dakendra Sing Limbu (Thegim) collected 11,457 votes, and Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Milan Limbu was 5,050. Mani Bahadur Limbu from Mangol National Organization got 816 votes Out of a total of 115,889 voters registered in the constituency, 69,287 persons cast ballots in the April-27 by-election.

A total of 19 candidates from 12 political parties and seven independents were in the fray.
