CM Karki : Resolution Proposal is against Constitution

Kathmandu: Koshi Province Chief Minister (CM) Kedar Karki has commented on the resolution proposal, passed by the majority of the Province Assembly members, being against the constitution.

CM Karki submitted the letter to Province Chief Parashuram Khapung, mentioning his comments. The members of the province assembly have different opinions regarding the proposal.

Few voted in favor, few voted against, and few stayed neutral regarding the proposals. CM Karki claimed the nature of the resolution is different than the resolution of the province.

The majority passed the proposal, which was registered by the Province Assembly members of the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Centre) on the 19th of April. With this, the opposition pressurized for another vote of confidence.

Despite the formation of the new coalition, CM Karki has adopted the strategy of continuing to run the government, instead of seeking a vote of confidence.
