Exhibition of Non-biodegradable garbage (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: The non-biodegradable garbage collected from various mountains by the Team of Nepali Army from 2019 -2023 as the Cleaning Mountain Campaign has been exhibited.

The exhibition was held at Nepali Army Headquarters, Jangi Adda on 11 April 2024 (Chaitra 29, 2080). Oxygen Gas used by climbers, EP Gas Cylinders, Boots, Ice Axe, Snow bars, Ice Screws, Climbing Ropes, Helmets, Harness, Tent, Poles, Watches and Communication Sets were displayed in the exhibition.

They began Clean–up Campaign from Lhotse Mountain in 2019, They brought 97,253 kg of garbage, 4 corpses, and 2 human skeletons in 2021, 22, and 23. Till 2023, they have cleaned up the Lhotse, Pumori, Makalu, Dhaulagiri, Amadablam, Sagarmatha, Manaslu, Annapurna, and Barunche mountains.

Likewise, the Nepali Army has been preparing to bring 10 tons of garbage and 5 confirmed corpses from Nupche Lhotse and Mt. Everest under the Clean Mountain Campaign 2024. For this year’s campaign, the Team of Nepali Army will be going to the Everest base camp on 14 April 2024( Baisakh 2, 2081).
