Ireland ‘A’ wins ODI series against Nepal

Kathmandu: Ireland ‘A’ has won the second match against Nepal ‘A’ in the ODI series. Ireland ‘A’ defeated Nepal ‘A’ by 114 runs at the T.U. International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

With this, Ireland ‘A’ bagged the title of the 3-matches ODI series by 2-0 with one match remaining. Ireland ‘A’ won the first match against Nepal ‘A’ by 21 runs.

Nepal ‘A’ failed to meet the target of 175 runs. Nepal was packed up in 60 runs in 16.5 overs. Bhim Sharki contributed 17 and Captain Binod Bhandari scored 16 runs for the team.

Other 4 players failed to score double-digit runs for Nepal. Naren Bhatta scored 6, Basir Ahamad hit 6, Arjun Saud 5, and Sahab Alam 1 run for the team. Dev Khanal, Mausam Dhakal, Rijan Dhakal, and Aarif Sheikh became the victims of duckout.

Matthew Humphreys took 6 wickets for Ireland ‘A.’

In the first innings, Ireland ‘A’ was packed up in 38.4 overs and scored 174 runs.

Gavin Hoey scored 50 and Neil Rick scored 45 runs for the team. Rijan Dhakal and Shahab Alam took 3 wickets each for Nepal ‘A.’ Mousam Dhakal took 2 and Kamal Singh Airee 1 wicket for the team.

Nepal ‘A’ won the toss and chose to field. Now, the remaining one match of the series will be held on Sunday.
