Kathmandu: The number of people rafting in Sunkhoshi (Lower Bhotekoshi) is increasing.

The number of domestic tourists has been increasing to enjoy the thrill of rafting with the beginning of summer at the Sukute, Sindhupalchowk. People, from Kathmandu Valley and its surroundings, love to visit this area for rafting.

Around 3 dozen small camps and resorts have been operating in this area, with the increase in the number of domestic tourists.

Likewise, resorts have made rafting packages of around Rs. 4000-5000 for a one-night stay; which includes both food and lodging. The time frame between mid-February (Falgun) and the rainy season is considered a rafting season.

Tamor, Arun, Upper and Lower Bhotekoshi, Trishuli, Marshyangdi, Kali Gandaki, West Seti, and other rivers are considered suitable for rafting. Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers are considered as best rafting designations for people near Kathmandu Valley.
