UML preparing to obstruct HoR meeting; Demanding high-level commission for investigation

Kathmandu: CPN(UML) has decided to obstruct the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting today.

UML demanded the government formation of a high-level commission for investigating the gold smuggling scandal.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has also been given a warning for obstructing the HoR meeting since last week. The HoR meeting is scheduled to take place at 1 pm. However, The Chief Whip of UML Padam Giri said that they won’t allow the smooth functioning of the meeting.

Giri said, ‘The government has not shown concern regarding the formation of a high-level commission for the investigation of the gold smuggling till now. That’s why, we will allow the meeting to take place.’

RSP obstructed the meeting last Wednesday. RSP had also demanded the formation of a high-level commission. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ had requested the Chief Whip of RSP Santosh Pariyar to remove the obstruction in the HoR meeting.
