Bimal Nepal launches Maoist insurgency-centric novel ‘Pipala’

Kathmandu: Bimal Nepal, a journalist as well as a writer, has launched his novel ‘Pipala.’

Nepal launched his novel during an event at Nepal Academy.

Reviewer Gyanu Adhikari praised the theme of the story. He said that the novel incorporates the aspect of the rural lifestyle, the Maoist insurgency period, and its effect.

Adhikari said, ‘The story is contextual even today. A reader can find the reflection of the time that he or she has lived in. Readers will establish a connection with the characters. This is the life that we all have lived in. This is the story revolving around our experience.’

Reviewer Rajkumar Baniya and Novelist Nayanraj Pandey also commented on the novel and gave their best wishes to writer Nepal.

Nepal said that he even crafted some of his experience in the Pipala. The novel presents the struggle of Pipala to restore herself to society during and after the Maoist insurgency.
