Writ petition against Chief Minister Sodari’s appointment at Supreme Court

Kathmandu: A writ petition has been filed against Sudurpaschim’s Chief Minister Dirgha Bahadur Sodari at the Supreme Court.

The writ petition was filed against the appointment of Chief Minister Sodari. Nagarik Unmuki Party’s member of parliament Laxman Kishore Chaudhary filed a writ against Sodari’s appointment.

Likewise, Sodari submitted his claim to be Chief Minister by gaining the majority. He submitted his claim with the support of the Nepali Congress, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and Nagarik Unmukti Resham Chaudhary’s side

On the same day, Kailash Karki MP from Nagrik Unmukti’s Ranjita Chaudhary also submitted his claim with the support of the ruling coalition party CPN(Maoist Centre), CPN(UML) and 1 MP of Rastriya Swatantra Party.

Province Chief Nazir Miya rejected both claims and asked to submit the claim again within 2 days. Based on that Sodari submitted the claim accordingly and became Chief Minister.

Chaudhary went to the court saying that his claim was rejected despite having the majority.
