Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) member of the House of Representatives Tek Bahadur Gurung’s suspension has been lifted.
General Secretary Padma Pandey issued a notice at the federal parliament on Wednesday, saying that Gurung’s suspension was lifted as per Supreme Court order.
Previously, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Gurung, who had filed a petition in demand to lift suspension. He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Manang but was suspended on 27 December 2022( Poush 12, 2079). After suspension, Gurung filed a writ petition on 5 March (Falgun 21).
Likewise, a Special Court convicted 9 people including Gurung on 28 February (Falgun 16), in charge of corruption in the operation of the Bhirkutimandap’s fun park by lowering it rental rates. He was made to pay a fine, but was not sentenced to imprisonment.
