Qatari Amir to arrive in evening; Nepal and Qatar to sign dozens of agreement 

Kathmandu: Nepal has prepared to sign more than a dozen of agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Qatar. 

Nepal has put forward various projects targeting the upcoming vibists of the Qatari Emir Shiekh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Amir Al-Thani would arrive in Kathmandu in the evening for a two-day official visit. 

There is a schedule for his flight to land at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. He will be arriving in Kathmandu, from Bangladesh, after completing his tour in the Philippines.

President Ram Chandra Paudel will be welcoming Amir Al-Thani at the TIA. The airport will be closed for about half an hour for the special welcome ceremony.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said that the preparations were going on to sign the agreements relating to the diplomatic training and education, exchanging support in cultural areas, related to youths and sports, protocol related to print and information, related to development. 

The news agencies of Qatar “Qatar News Agency” and Nepali News Agency “Rastriya Samachar Samiti” (RSS) will sign an agreement to exchange news. 

According to sources of MoFA, the discussions are going for receiving funds from the Qatar Fund for Development in Nepal. 

Qatari Emir Al-Thani and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will have a bilateral discussion on Wednesday. Several agreements will be signed between the ministers after the discussion. 

There will be talks with the Nepali leaders focusing on ways to enhance cooperation and discussing several issues of mutual interest.

Likewise, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nepal, Mishal bin Mohammed Al Ansari said that agreements and memoranda of understanding would be signed in various fields. 

The officials have shared that top priority is accorded to the Qatari Amir’s visit and the issues of Nepali migrants and their rights would be raised.
