Seto Matsyendranath chariot construction in final stage (Photo Feature)

Kathmandu: The chariot construction of Seto Matsyendranath is in the final stage. The chariot construction is going on at Tindhara Pathshala, Kathmandu.

The Seto Matsyendranath Rath Yatra is celebrated for 5 days. It begins on Chaitra Shukla Ashtami and concludes in Chaitra Shukla Dwadashi.

People have been worshipping Matsyendranath i.e. Lokeshwor under 4 names. Out of which Rakta Lokiteshwor (Rato Matsyendranath) in Patan/Bungmati, Adinath or Anandadi Lokeshwor in Chovar, Srishtikanta Lokeshwor in Nala (Banepa) and Aryavaoloiteshwor in Kathmandu.

Among 4 Matsyendranath, Aryavaoloiteshwor i.e. Seto Matsyendranath is the fourth Lokeshwor. It is worshipped for Sadhana and life extension.

On the first day of Rath Yatra, the idol will be placed in Khat from Machhindra Bahal to Tindhara Pathshala following the rituals. This marks the official beginning of the chariot.

The Chariot procession will run for 5 days.
