General Election begins in Pakistan

Kathmandu: The general election has begun in Pakistan. 90 thousand 6 hundred 75 polling stations have been designated across the country for the election.

According to BBC, 167 Political Parties and 5 thousand 121 independents are candidates for the election. Former Prime Minister Nawaraj Sharif led the Muslim League to Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Ali led the Pakistan People’s Party have fielded candidates.

However, Former PM Imran Khan’s led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidates are contesting elections independently, because of Khan’s imprisonment which resulted in the cancellation of the party election symbol.

There are 128 million voters (12 crores) 85 lakh, earlier 52% general public cast their votes in the 2017 general election. Pakistan has a bicameral parliamentary system, where the general public elects members of the National Assembly.

The General Public going to cast their votes for the 266 seats, out of 336 seats in the National Assembly.

Likewise, the death toll from bomb blasts has risen to 28, which took in Pakistan’s Balochistan Province before the start of general elections. After 5-year gap general election was held in Pakistan at a time when the general public facing an economic crisis due to rising prices.
