Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar resigns

Kathmandu: Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar has resigned.

CM Kumar claimed that things were not moving in favor of the government’s Grand Alliance. He resigned on Sunday.

Kumar submitted his resignation to the governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar in Raj Bhavan. He had received support from the Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to make a new government in the state. But his fusion with the grand alliance has not even been completed for 18 months.

Kumar, while addressing media outside the Raj Bhavan said that he even told the governor to dissolve the state government, while resigning from his post. He said that the RJD’s attitude was bothering him.

Similarly, Kumar blamed the slow progress of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) for his resignation. He said that despite his maximum effort, he was not able to receive a response from the INDIA bloc.

Kumar is also in the process of joining the National Democratic (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). There are rumors of Kumar becoming the CM again with the support of the BJP.
