Hand over of 4 High Impact Community Development Projects built with financial assistance of Government of India in Dailekh

Kathmandu: Shri Prashant Kumar, Sona, SS (DP), Embassy of India, and Mr.Namraj Shahi, Chief, DCC, Dailekh have handed over the newly constructed academic infrastructures to concerned local authorities of Govt. of Nepal (GoN).

The three school buildings of Shree Malika Higher Secondary School, Lalikanda; Shree Bhairav Secondary School, Badabhairav; Shree Jagadish Secondary School, Badakhola and one Campus building of Shree Narayan Campus, Rampur built under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ were formally handed over on 3rd July 2023.
The Govt. of India (GoI) provided financial assistance of NRs.108.60 million for the newly built infrastructures in Dailekh. Mr. Top Bahadur B. C. Chairman, Gurans Rural Municipality; Mr. Ganesh Bahadur Thapa Chairman, Bhagawatimai Rural Municipality; Ms. Manju Kumari Sharma (Pandey), Acting Chairman, Mahabu Rural Municipality and Mr. Loman Sharma, Mayor, Narayan Municipality and social workers and political representatives, officials of Nepal Government and local community leaders were also present on this occasion.
These projects were taken up as  High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) under an Agreement between the GoI and the GoN. All these school and campus building projects were implemented through DCC Dailekh. These school and campus buildings will help the students in the area by providing them with quality educational infrastructure and creating a suitable environment for good quality education in Dailekh District.
Since 2003, India has taken up over 544 HICDPs in Nepal and has completed 480 projects. Amongst these, 14  projects are in Karnali Pradesh of which 4 projects are in Dailekh. In addition to these, the GoI has gifted 940 ambulances and 184 school buses to various hospitals, health posts, and educational institutions in Nepal on the occasion of Independence Day and Republic Day of India. Amongst these, 6 ambulances have been provided to the Dailekh district, to date.
These projects are the reflection of India’s development partnership with Nepal and complement the effort of the Government of Nepal in augmenting infrastructure in the field of education.
