No decrement on social security allowance: Finance Minister Mahat

Kathmandu: Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has assured the social security allowance not to get deducted this year.

Dr. Mahat said that the government would not back off from its commitment to provide allowance while answering the question raised regarding the principles and primary concerns of the budget in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

Mahat said, ‘A few suspicions have arisen in the matter of social security allowance. But nothing will be compromised in the subject matter relating to our commitment to social security allowance.’

He said that the government would fully focus on frugality and decrement of common expenses. Mahat said, ‘Government will focus on decreasing insignificant structure, and making capital expenses effective.’

Mahat even shared the plan for fixing the issues in the economy within the ongoing fiscal year. He said that the government will be focusing on increasing capital expenses from the beginning of the upcoming fiscal year to mobilize the economy. Mahat added that Nepal Rastra Bank will decrease the interest rate through monetary policy.
