Cabbage worth Rs. 170 million exported via Kakarbhitta border

Kathmandu: Cabbage worth over Rs. 170 million have been exported to India via the Kakarbhitta border in nine months of the current fiscal year. The cabbage was produced in Dhankuta, Ilam, and Jhapa districts.

The information officer at the Plant Quarantine Office of Kakarbhitta, Chandeshwor Thakur, informed that 10,103 metric tonnes of cabbage were exported in nine months.

Various other agricultural products are exported to India via the Kakarbhitta border. However, in the same period, Nepal imported 361 thousand metric tonnes of food grains and other agro-products which is worth Rs. 9.30 billion.

Cardamom, tea, plywood, and ginger are the top exports from Nepal. Similarly, vegetables, fruits, soybean, and potato are imported maximum from India.
