Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharm informed that the cabinet meeting held on Friday morning decided to declare Limbu a martyr and to provide support to his family.

Kathmandu: The government has decided to declare Padam Limbu, who lost his life after his participation in an identitarian demonstration in Biratnagar, a martyr.

Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharm informed that the cabinet meeting held on Friday morning decided to declare Limbu a martyr and to provide support to his family.

Limbu had been injured during a protest in Biratnagar on 19^th March (Chaitra 5) and lost his life during treatment at BP Koirala Heath Academy of Science.

The government had formed an investigation committee. Koshi Province had decided to provide 3 lakh rupees to the family of Limbu. Limbu lost his life during protests against the naming of Province 1 as Koshi Province.
