Maoist close people’s organizations submit memorandum highlighting identitarian protest to PM Dahal

Kathmandu: Various people’s organizations, close to CPN (Maoist Centre),  have submitted a memorandum, demanding the naming of Koshi Pradesh on the basis of its identity, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Organizations including Kirati Rastriya Mukti Morcha, Nepal Limbuwan Rastriya Mukti Morcha submitted the memorandum to PM Dahal on Thursday.

The memorandum demands that Maoists must take responsibility for the identitarian demonstration. The organizations also demanded to immediately seek a solution through negotiation, to control the increasing conflict in the Koshi Province due to identitarian issues.

The memorandum even highlights on providing relief to the family of the protestor, who died in the protest.

Dahal responded that he would initiate the process of correcting the name of the province. The Maoist even supported the idea of naming the province Koshi during the time of the election.

Unsatisfied groups of people have been protesting against the decision of the State Assembly of naming Pradesh 1 as Koshi Province. Padam Limbu Lajehang had lost his life during the identitarian protest in Biratnagar.
