"22nd Himalayan White Water Challenge" in Sukute (Photo Feature)

Sindhupalchowk: The “22nd Himalayan White Water Challenge” has been concluded in Sukute, Sindhupalchowk.

Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) organized an open competition in the rafting and kayaking genre. The “22nd Himalayan White Water Challenge” was organized to promote Nepal’s most adventurous water sports in the world.

Bhotekoshi Adventure Club won the competition. The team was honored with 40 thousand rupees of cash prizes, medals, and certificates. The team completed the allocated distance within 29 minutes and 51 seconds.

Rafting Star Camp bagged the second position. The team completed the distance in 31 minutes and 7 seconds.

Tribhuvan Army Club came third in the competition. They completed the distance on 31 minutes and 34 seconds.

Star received a cash prize of 40 thousand and the Army received 10 thousand rupees, medals, and certificates.

In Kayaking, Surendra Majhi secured the first position. Krishna Khadka became second and Bijaya Majhi became third. They completed the respective distance in 30 minutes and 51 seconds, 30 minutes and 54 seconds, and 31 minutes and 3 seconds respectively.

Surendra received 15 thousand rupees, Krishna 10 thousand, and Bijaya 5 thousand rupees along with certificates and medals.

A total of 14 teams competed in the rafting competition. Out of which, there were 3 teams of the Tribhuvan Army Club and a women’s team. A total of 24 teams, including 2 women’s teams, competed in Kayaking.

The competition was organized from Bhoteskoshi to Chehere (a 9-kilometer distance). NARA Chairperson Narayan Shrestha said the competition was organized at a total of 16 lakh rupees.

Bagmati Province Tourism Ministry and Nepal Tourism Board were some of the major supports of the event. The only women’s team, in the competition, was especially honored.
