Speaker Ghimire calls meeting with top leaders parties going on

Kathmandu: The meeting, called by Speaker Devraj Ghimire, of top leaders of major parties is going on at Singhadurbar.

The ongoing meeting is focusing on measures to conduct the upcoming budget sessions of parliament without any interruption.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN(UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson Rabi Lamichhane and other leaders presented in the meeting.

Likewise, the opposition party Nepali Congress obstructed the meeting in the last parliamentary session, demanding the formation of a parliamentary investigating committee to investigate the involvement of RSP Chairperson, Deputy Prime Minister, and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in a cooperative embezzlement case.

Speaker Ghimire called the meeting for discussion before the start of the next convention in order to avoid possible obstruction in the upcoming house session.

The budget session will begin on 10 May (Baishakh 28, 2081).
