PM Dahal suggests Chairperson Yadav not to split and rather unite

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Janata Samjwadi Party, Nepal Chairperson Upendra Yadav have held a meeting.

Chairperson Yadav, also the Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister, arrived in Kathmandu on Monday evening. He went to Baluwatar to meet PM Dahal on Tuesday morning.

PM Dahal suggested Chairperson Yadav to move ahead with unification. The Prime Minister Secretariat’s member quoted PM Dahal as saying, ‘It is not good for a party to split. You must unite and discuss. It is not good for a ruling coalition to split.’

Chairperson Yadav called a parliamentary party meeting in the afternoon. The lawmakers said the meeting would focus on withdrawing its support to the government.

Janata Samjwadi Party, Nepal split when Yadav went to participate in the 57th session of the Commission on Population and Development in New York.

Federal Council Chairperson of the Party, Ashok Rai, registered the Janata Samajwadi Party with the support of the 7 lawmakers of the party. The Election Commission has also given validation to the party.

There are only 5 MPs in the support of Chairperson Yadav.
