RSP calls Central Committee Meeting

Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has called a central committee meeting.

RSP called the central meeting, after being defeated in the Illam-2 by-election. The party’s General Secretary Dr. Mukul Dhakal said a central committee meeting has been called on 11 May (Baishak 29).

RSP secured 4th position in the by-election at Illam -2. The meeting would review the defeat of the party in the by-election.

The bail of all candidates was confiscated except CPN (UML) Suhang Nembang, Nepali Congress Dambar Khadka, and Identitarian Candidate Dakendra Singh Thegim. RSP Candidate Milan Limbu, who claimed to win the by-election obtained 5 thousand 50 votes only.

Likewise, there is a legal provision that candidates who obtain less than 10% of total votes will be forfeited. The meeting will take palce at the party’s centeral office, Banasthali.

The meeting of the secretariat has been called on Friday. And a parliamentary party meeting on 6 May,2024  (Baishak 24). RSP Leaders called the result as unexpected.
