1. 20 candidates from Ilam Constituency No.2 and 12 from Bajhang Constituency No. 1 (A) file candidacy for by-election

A total of 20 candidates from Ilam Constituency No. 2 and 12 from Bajhang Constituency No. 1 (A) have filed their nominations for the upcoming by-election to be held on the 27th of April. Office of the Chief Election Officer said that a total of 12 candidates from political parties and 8 independent candidates filed their candidacy from Ilam Constituency No. 2. Chief Election Officer Keshav Prasad Ghimire said that 20 candidates, including, Suhang Nembang from the CPN (UML) filed their candidacy. Meanwhile, 12 candidates registered nominations in Bajhang Constituency No. 1 (A).

2. PM Dahal says the party realizes the absence of leader Bogati

Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the party always realizes the absence of the former minister and its leader Posta Bahadur Bogati. Addressing the eighth AGM of Posta Bahadur Bogati Memorial Trust and the program to mark the leader’s death anniversary at the party Central Office, Parisdanda on Saturday, Chairperson Dahal remembered Bogati as a leader with integrity and simplicity.

3. President Deuba: Unity utmost to strengthen party

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that unity among all party cadres was essential to strengthen the party. Inaugurating the party’s event organized by NC Kathmandu Constituency No. 2 committee on Saturday, he called upon everyone to move forward with mutual understanding and coordination to strengthen the party. He directed the leaders and cadres to prepare for the party to get a majority in the upcoming elections and work together towards that. ‘It is the need of the moment to work so that the Congress gets a majority in the upcoming elections, and all the cadres of the party should work together for the result. It is necessary to move forward by maintaining mutual understanding and coordination,’ former Prime Minister Deuba said, ‘We are united in building the party without any compromise.’

4. Finance Minister hopeful of impressive economic growth rate

Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun has said the country’s economic growth rate will be impressive in the current fiscal year. At an interactive program of the ‘Birgunjko Bani’ organized by Kantipur Media Group in Birgunj, Finance Minister Pun said that the economic growth rate will be encouraging adding that the World Bank has also made a forecast of more than 3.5 percent of economic growth rate this year. “We are hopeful of good economic growth though the economic growth rate will not be as per the announcements stated in the national budget,” Pun said.

5. Minister Giri ensures digital platforms incorporate public submissions

Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri says the government is preparing to ensure a digital
platform to seek and incorporate public submissions regarding existing acts and laws. Addressing the 12th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Distributors’ Association of Nepal on Saturday, Minister Giri said the government thought of developing a digital mechanism as it sought to address unwanted obstructions caused by the law for any areas to function
smoothly.

6. Minister Aryal warns Lawmakers to search their financial details

Rastriya Swatantra Party Vice-Chairperson and Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Dol Prasad Aryal has warned lawmakers for not compelling to search about their irregularities, who were targeting and passing Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)-centric comments in a cooperative fraud case. Addressing a program in Kathmandu on Saturday, Minister Aryal gave the warning. He claimed that no political party took the initiative to solve the problems of the cooperative. Similarly, Minister Aryal, targeting the lawmakers bragging about RSP being equal to cooperatives, gave the warnings not to compel to investigate the financial transactions of the lawmakers with respective cooperatives to buy land, and win elections. He said that RSP did not require any financial aid to find irregularities.
