1. Chief Minister Jamkattel expands Bagmati cabinet

Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel has expanded the cabinet. Chief Minister Jamkattel appointed 4 ministers from the ruling coalition party CPN (UML). They are Prakash Shrestha as the Minister for Industry, Commerce, Land, and Administration, Keshav Pokharel as the Ministry for Forest and Environment, Ekalal Shrestha as the Minister for Water, Energy, and Irrigation, and Rameshwor Shrestha as the Health Minister. Province Chief Yadav Chandra Sharma administered Tuesday’s oath of Office and Secrecy.

2. Nagarik Unmukti Chairperson Shrestha: Meeting called on April 5, 6 is unofficial

Nagrik Unmukti Party Chairperson Ranjita Shrestha said the meeting on 5 April (Chaitra 23) and 6 April (Chaitra 24) is not official. Previously in the issued notice on Monday, General Secretary Gangaram Chaudhary directed elected officials and central members from the first convention to be present in the meeting, to discuss important issues. Issuing a notice on Tuesday,  the party Chairperson Shrestha said the meeting called for the officials and Central Members was unofficial. The General Secretary is a supporter of Patron Resham Chaudhary. The Party is in the division phase due to the discussion over joining the government.

3. Meeting of Karnali Province Assembly postponed

The meeting of the Karnali Province Assembly has been postponed till Wednesday. The meeting has been adjourned till Wednesday, after Chief Minister Raj Kumar Sharma failed to reach an agreement between the parties, regarding a vote of confidence. There was a schedule of Chief Minister Sharma taking a vote of confidence in the meeting held on Tuesday. Chief Minister Sharma has been taking a stance for taking a vote of confidence, despite Prime Minister and CPN(Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal’ Prachanda’ asking him to step down from his position.

4. NC accuses RSP leaders DP Aryal and Kabindra Burlakoti  for involving in Cooperative fraud

The Nepali Congress (NC) has accused the Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Deputy General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti and RSP Vice-Chairperson’s involvement in the Cooperative Fraud scandal. NC Member of Parliament (MP) Ram Krishna Yadav spoke about it in the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Tuesday.‘There is a subject of depositors, not getting the amount of more than 4 crore rupees when D.P. Aryal was the Vice Chairperson of new agriculture,’ M.P. Yadav said,’ Not only Aryal, but RSP Deputy General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti was also the Cultural Committee Member.’

5. Biplav: Current dissatisfaction could only be solved through specific socialism for Nepal

Socialist Front Coordinator and Nepal Communist Party General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ has said that the current dissatisfaction could only be solved through specific socialism for Nepal. Addressing an interaction program of the Socialist Front in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he said that the current problems could only be solved through specific socialism for Nepal. Coordinator Chand claimed that the Socialist Front would not bring instability but stability to the nation. He said that the front would play a role in solving the dissatisfaction, political, economic, and social problems progressively.

6. Police arrest CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Kali Bahadur Kham

The ruling coalition party CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Kali Bahadur Kham has been arrested. The team of District Police Range, Kathmandu arrested Kham on Tuesday. Kham, who is a member of Maoist’s National Security Department is accused in the murder of Koteshwor’s businessperson Ramhari Shrestha, after Shrestha’s abduction. Kham is accused of abducting Shrestha from Kathmandu on 27 April 2008 (Baishakh 15, 2065), and murdered him at Shaktikhor, Chitwan. He had been absconding for a long time, in the murder case of Shrestha.
