Kathmandu: People are celebrating Holi on a grand scale in Nepal. The festival of colors is celebrated on the Falgun Shukla Purnima every year.
The people in the Hilly region are celebrating the festival on Sunday. The festival is celebrated with colors and water. There is a belief that the festival enhances reconciliation and goodwill among the people.
People have also gathered in Basantapur Durbar Square to celebrate Holi. Nepal Police has also increased the checking on the occasion of Holi.
Foreigners can also be playing with the colors. People can be seen both traditional and modern songs in Basantapur.
