NC obstructs second parliamentary meeting

Kathmandu: The meeting of parliament has been postponed after the opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) MPs encircled the well of the house.

Earlier, Speaker Ghimire had adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes after NC obstructed the first meeting. However, the second meeting was also obstructed due to the failure of an agreement.

Likewise, there was an agenda to present a proposal to consider the 2nd Amendment bill on Political parties by the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane. The parliament session could not proceed, due to the disagreement of the ruling party upon NC’s proposal to support running the parliament in case of removing the opposed proposal from the agenda.

NC MPs began sloganeering after Speaker Ghimire permitted Home Minister Lamichhane to present the bill in the second meeting. The next meeting of the parliament has been scheduled for Sunday.
