CIAA files case of corruption against 3 former secretaries in Melamchi Water Project

Kathmandu: The Commission of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against 18 people, including 3 former secretaries 18, in Special Court.

CIAA filed the case against them in a Special Court on Sunday. They have been found of conducting irregularities in the supply of the Melamchi Water Project.

Likewise, CIAA also made people including Sanjaya Sharma, Bhim Upadhaya, and Gajendra Thakur, defendants in the case. They were former secretaries of the Ministry of Water Supply.

Similarly,  a case has also been filed against Mukunda Prasad Paudel and Rudra Singh Tamang, who were the board members of the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee.

A total of 15 Nepali and 3 foreigners have been made defendants in the case. Executive Directors Ghanshyam Bhattarai, Ram Chandra Devkota, and Suryaraj Kadel are among the Nepali defendants.
