Police arrest Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren

Kathmandu: Police have arrested Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Police arrested CM Soren in a property laundering case. Soren was involved in the case of a scam in the mining case.

An investigation started upon CM Soren, after his involvement in the mining case. CM Soren is out of contact, despite the repeated contacting of the Directorate of Enforcement(ED) to take his statement.

However, his party has been claiming that CM Soren is not the primary accuser of the scam case. Instead, his party has accused the ED of working under the direction of the central government.

CM Soren resigned from the post, to fight an open legal battle against ED. According to The Hindustan Times, the ruling opposition Jharkhand Mukti Morcha JMM-led alliance put forward the name of senior leader Champai Soren for the designation of Jharkhand’s CM.

43 MLAs have already signed to appoint Champai Soren as CM. It has been mentioned that 47 MLAs are in favor of Champai.
