PM Dahal preparing to make Janamat participate in government; Janamat warns not to wait longer

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has begun the homework of making the Janmat Party participate in the government.

PM Dahal has been preparing to invite the Janamat party to the government after completing the Central Committee Meeting of CPN (Maoist Centre). The party has not been added to the government, although Dr. Chandra Kanta Raut (C.K. Raut) led Janamat Party was to be added to the government earlier.

The Central Committee Meeting of the Maoist Centre will be held on 17th Shrawan (2nd August). PM Dahal’s political advisor, as well as Maoist Centre’s leader Haribol Gajurel, said that Janmat Party will be added to the government after the completion of the meeting.

‘The preparation of adding Janamat to the party is going on,’ Gajurel said to Nepal Views, ‘Double Dialogue is going on. Janamat has agreed on the participation. Most probably, Janamat will be part of the government after the completion of the meeting.’

Gajurel said,’ A discussion is going on in the party about how to vacant ministry for Janamat. This will be decided by the meeting.’

However, Janamat has agreed to take the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration as per various Maoist leaders. Maoist leader Aman Lal Modi has been taking responsibility for the ministry at the current moment. According to Maoist leaders, Maoist Centre would make Modi resign for giving the ministry to Janamat. Janamat has recommended Anita Devi for the post of the ministry.

Janamat has given a warning not to wait anymore. Vice-Chair of Janamat, as well as former minister Abdul Khan, said, ‘We have been waiting for a long time. We have already clarified about participating in the government. But, as we have not been part of the government, we are in the phase of dilemma.’

Janamat had demanded the Agriculture and Industry Ministry. But as Nepali Congress has both of the industries, Janamat agreed on taking the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
