ACC Premier Cup final: Nepal takes 5 wickets at the end of 20 overs

Kathmandu: The final match under ACC Men’s Premier Cup between Nepal and UAE is underway at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Nepal has won the toss and elected to field first. Following the brief interruption by rain, the match has been resumed.

At the end of the 20 overs, UAE has scored 80 runs with the loss of 5 wickets. Karan KC has taken 2 wickets for Nepal. While Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajbanshi have taken one wicket each so far.

UAE has played 16 overs so for, scoring 60 runs with the loss of 5 wicket. But the match has been delayed due to rain.

Nepal and UAE have faced each other in 13 matches since 2018. Of them, Nepal has won seven matches.

The winner of the final will play against India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup to be held in September. Nepal is aiming to play the Asia Cup for the first time.

Nepal had defeated Oman, Qatar and Malaysia in the group stage. Nepal reached the final on the basis of its performance in the group stage after the match against Kuwait in the first semi-final was canceled due to rain.

UAE defeated Oman by two runs in the second semi-final match.
