Kathmandu: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has stressed the need for corrections in the current education system of the country.

Former Prime Minister Nepal suggested the correction while inaugurating the first national general convention of the Progressive Nepal National Teachers Association (PNNTA) today.

Nepal said, ‘The Prime Minister and the Education Minister themselves should act in this regard. Education plays an important role in ending self-centeredness and corruption.’

He even emphasized the need for providing free education up to the higher secondary level and providing skill-oriented and practical education.

Kumar suggested that the incumbent government should accord high priorities to education.

On the occasion, the PNNTA Chairperson Bhim Bahadur Basnet underscored the need for connecting education with labor and skills.

Over 300 representatives from across the country participated in the convention, it has been said. It will choose a new leadership.
