Deuba to get facilities as leader of main opposition party!

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba will be getting the privilege of being the leader of the main opposition party.

Federal Parliament Secretariat will be giving the services to Deuba as he was the leader of the main opposition party between 10^th Poush and 4^th Chaitra, 2079.

Congress has decided to support the government and mark its participation in Chaitra 5. The decision of providing services to Deuba as per the presence of Congress in the opposition before being part of the government.

Parliament Secretariat had been providing services to Deuba similar to the other members of parliament. Members of Parliament from Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party and Rastriya Janamorcha have been claiming that the party which gave the vote of confidence to the government cannot be termed as an opposition party and has been opposing the decision.

A writ petition had also been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the decision, which is currently under consideration in the current situation.

What services will the leader of the main opposition party receive?

There is a provision in the law to provide services to the leader of the main opposition party. The leader will receive special services as per the act relating to the facilities of officials of the Federal Parliament.

The leader, in addition to salary, will receive a special allowance, meeting allowance, monthly amount for telephone, internet, and newspaper under communication facilities, 25 thousand 608 rupees per month for accommodation facility, furniture expenses, private secretariat maintenance expenses, guard house, fuel facilities for vehicles, mobile, electricity expenses, daily visit allowance, Travel insurance, etc.

Similarly, the leader will also get the facility of a personal secretary, computer operator, office assistant, and driver two each, 10 military police jawan soldiers, one bodyguard, and one villadar guard.

Also, there is a provision of getting hospitality expenses, office supplies including computers, and two bicycles facility by the leader. There is also travel insurance of 10 lakh rupees.
