Sanjay bags silver in 18th World Muay Thai Championship

Kathmandu: Nepali Muay Thai player Sanjay Rai succeeded to bag a silver medal in the 18th World Muay Thai Championship.

According to Nepal National Muay Thai President Ganesh Lal Kashyapati, Sanjay won silver in the 54 kg category.

Sanjay failed to defeat a Brazilian player in the final held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Previously, Nepal succeeded to secure three bronze medals. Gunaraj Ruchal (57 kg) and Nawaraj Parajuli (71kg) won the bronze medal. Denika Rai (48kg) bagged bronze for Nepal in the women’s category.

The Nepali team is returning to the country on Monday. Nepal had a record of one gold, one silver, and 7 bronze medal in a different championships in the past.
