Supreme Court asks for video footage of Chairperson Mansuri giving vote of confidence

Kathmandu: The full bench of the Supreme Court has asked to submit the video footage of the chairperson of the ceremony giving the vote of confidence in Koshi Province.

The full bench asked for the footage of Chairperson Israel Mansuri giving a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Uddhav Thapa. Manusri was the chairperson of the meeting held on September 4 (Bhadra 4). Mansuri had voted by handing the chairmanship of the meeting to another member, Geeta Timilsina, during the vote correction time.

The full bench of Chief Justices Sapana Malla Pradhan, Dr. Kumar Chudal, and Nahakul Subedi has asked for the video footage. The major opposition party CPN (UML) had filed a writ in the Supreme Court mentioning the voting of Chairperson Mansuri as unconstitutional in the vote of confidence ceremony.

The final verdict over the writ is predicted to be public by Wednesday.
