Today’s weather: Heavy rainfall predicted

Kathmandu: The Weather Forecasting Division has predicted heavy rainfall today.

‘Rainfall is taking place in most of the areas of the country also with the partial influence of the low-pressure line developed in the north-east part of the Bay of Bengal,’ the Weather Forecasting Division shared. The axis of the monsoon trough now lies close to the Himalayan foothills.

General changes are occurring in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces now while partial to general changes are taking place in a few areas of the remaining provinces. Now light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is occurring at a few places in Koshi Madhesh, Bagmati, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Partial to general changes will take place during the day today. Light to moderate rain is predicted at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini and some limited areas of the remaining provinces. Heavy rainfall, with thunder and lightning, is likely to take place in one or two areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces.

The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed changes in weather conditions since early this morning. Rainfall is also predicted in the valley today.
