MCC protestors targeted and defeated in election: Khanal

Kathmandu: CPN (Unified Socialist)’s senior leader Jhal Nath Khanal has said that MCC protestors were argeted and defeated in the election. 

Khanal shared it while addressing a program against the implementation of MCC on Monday. Khanal said,’ There is no alternative left for us rather than protesting on the streets. No one can raise the issue in the house. They had a grand design for defeating the ones who were against MCC. I was also the victim of the design.’ 

Earlier, Khanal said, ‘MCC Agreement can be canceled within 30 days. The way it has been approved, can it be canceled? I was only the one to term it as treason during the time of approval in the house. Neither my party nor any other Leftist party was able to speak. It was approved by bowing down to imperialism. It is an unfortunate moment in history.’

He was defeated in the constitutional election Illam-1 in Mangsir, 2079 B.S.
