Dhangadhi: Investigation has found Meri Stop Community Clinic being illegal.

Marie Stopes International Nepal issued a press statement claiming ‘Meri Stope Community Clinic’ was an illegal clinic. The statement mentions Marie Stopes having no connection with the clinic.

Binod Joshi and his wife Ashika Ojha had been illegally operating the clinic in Godavari Municipality, Kailali. A pregnant woman died after getting a high dose of medication from the clinic.

34-year-old Preeti Thapa had reached the clinic for an abortion. Thapa was taken to the Seti Hospital after the officials in the clinic failed to control her bleeding after the abortion on Wednesday.

Police arrested the operator of the clinic Joshi.
