Nearly 200 SEE examinees detained in Morang

Kathmandu: Police have detained nearly 200 SEE candidates today from three exam halls in Morang district.

The police said that the examinees were detained after they were found by invigilation team to have engaged in suspicious activities during Social Studies test. Most of them were taking Secondary Education Examinations (SEE) in others’ name, the police said.

According to the superintendent of District police Office Morang Dipak Pokhrel, the detainees were from 3 exam halls of Kerabari, Gramthan and Sundarharaincha municipalities.

As per police, 52 SEE candidates were detained from Saraswati Secondary School of Gramthan. While 127 and 20 candidates were detained from Sarwajanik Secondary School of Kerabari and Janata Secondary School of Sundarharaicha respectively.

Police have said that legal action will be taken against the detainees after necessary investigation into the matter. The investigation will als0 look into the possibility of any gang active in using fake candidates in the SEE.
