Department of Revenue Investigation raids and seals Chinese citizen’s rental house

Kathmandu: The Department of Revenue Investigation has conducted a raid on the rented house of the arrested Chinese citizen in Lazimpat.

The Department has been continuously conducting raids since the busting of smuggled gold at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on 18^th July.

Following the same trend, a few boxes have also been seized from the Lazimpat area. But an official of the department said that no gold was found in those boxes. The Department seized the house.

Police arrested the Chinese citizen Ziguang Lin from the TIA on 20^th July. The department conducted a raid in the house, sensing vital documents and objects.

A total of 17 people have been arrested in the accusation of the case. The department also conducted a raid in Baluwatar and Sohrakhutte on Wednesday. The department seized the busted brake shoes but was not able to get gold from those places.
