NRB unveils monetary policy

Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has unveiled the monetary policy for the fiscal year 2023-2024.

According to the policy, the policy rate has been reduced by 6.5 percent for both external and internal economic transactions. The bank rate has been kept unchanged at 7.5 percent. NRB has reduced the deposit collection from 5.5 to 4.5 percent.

Similarly, NRB has maintained the policy rate for the provision of a permanent liquidity facility at the overnight liquidity facility and the bank rate. NRB has not changed the Statutory Liquidity Ratio and Cash Reserve Ratio.
