Kathmandu: Central Member of Nepali Congress Pradip Paudel has pointed out various political as well as organizational problems inside Nepali Congress.

Paudel placed his opinion while speaking in the Central Committee Meeting on Tuesday. He said, ‘These problems have turned into huge ones. They need surgery. These problems cannot be solved by one or two. It can be solved in unity. We must think about it.’

Paudel asked to reduce the number of the House of Representatives (HoR) members to 201. He said, ‘The existing arrangements have no chance for gathering majority. There is no space for stability. Although we are repeating that we must not form a coalition before the election, it is not the situation of ending the relevance. That’s why, Nepali Congress must lead for a few constitutional provisions that must be revised. There must be a system for inclusive-proportional representation. I think 201 seats must be allotted for HoR.’

Paudel proposed that the number of the National Assembly (NA) must be reduced to 35. He said, ‘The number of the National Assembly member must be reduced to 35. Let’s introduce the inclusive-proportional provision. Congress must take initiation for this. This kind of practice can be seen on an international level.’

He said the ticket must be distributed by the public, not the center during the election. Poudel said, ‘Let’s end the tradition of providing tickets by the center. The public and the lower committee must have the authority of distributing the ticket. ‘
