Suspicion of additional 100 kilos gold remaining inside airport

Kathmandu:  The special operation for investigating a hundred-kilo gold scandal is taking its pace. It has been suspected that about 100 kilos of gold are still in the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Director General of the Revenue Investigation Department Nawraj Dhungana went to examine the airport area for the suspicion of remaining additional 100 kilos of gold kept hidden in the custom section.

The gold was seized after being cleared from the custom section of Sinamangal on Tuesday night. The seized gold was displayed to the public on Wednesday. The special operation is still on to bust the suspected 100 kilos of gold inside the airport.

The busted 100 kilos has been taken to the Mint Division on Thursday. The team of the Revenue Investigation Department took the gold (packed in 8 boxes) to the Mint Division.

The Division would be weighing the gold. The actual quantity of the gold is still not clear. The officials involved in the investigation had the busted gold to be around 1 quintal.

6 people, including an Indian citizen, have been arrested in the cases.
