Janakpurdham: Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala has inaugurated the railway services from Bhangaha Bijalpur to Jayanagar, India.
Minister Jwala waved the green flag to inaugurate the railway station in Bhangaha on Sunday afternoon.

The train was decorated like a new bride on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, which operated from Kurtha Junction, Janakpurdham to Bhanaga, Mohattari. There was a huge crowd of locals to observe the train. Earlier, 35-kilometer railway services were being operated from Kurtha Junction to Jayanagar, India in the first stage.
The17 kilometer railway section was constructed with the support of the Government of India. India’s Ircon Company Limited handed over the services to Nepal Railway Company on June 1 (18th Jestha). Two sets of Broadgaze trains started operating from Kurtha Junction to Jayanagar on April 2, 2023 (19th Chaitra, 2078).

Previously, the train was scheduled to provide services only two times a day. But, the train has been operating four times a day since Biwaha Panchami. Nirajan Jha, General Manager of Nepal Railway Department, said that the train will operate six times a day from Monday.

The train would operate two times a day, morning and evening, from Bhangaha station. Minister of Land Management and Agricultural Cooperatives of Madhes Province Govinda Neupane, mayor of Bhangaha Municipality Sanjeev Shah, and officials from the Indian Embassy also attended the inauguration ceremony.
