Supreme Court directs to show reason for keeping arrested ones in remand

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court has asked to submit a written answer over the file habeas corpus writ petition applied by three arrested ones in the Lalita Niwas Land grab scandal.

The Court would decide whether to permit the release or not release the arrested ones after getting the written answer.

Arrested Min Bahadur Gurung, Sudhir Shah, and Dharma Prasad Gautam have filed for the petition.

The single bench of justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal Kumar Chudal had given an ultimate of 24 hours to present the reason for keeping them in remand. The order of the Court states,’ Why does the order not have to be accordingly issued as per the demand of the petitioners? Do submit the written answer through the Attorney General’s Office within 24 hours, excluding the traveling time.’

Earlier, the Kathmandu District Court had directed to keep the arrested one in remand for additional seven days for the investigation.
