Nomination registration for by-election today

Kathmandu: The nomination of candidates for the by-elections to be held on April 23 in three constituencies is being today.

The nomination of the candidacy for by-elections in Tanahun-1, Chitwan-2 and Bara-2 has begun at 10 am this morning. According to the Election Commission, the registration will take place at respective District Election Offices and conclude at 5 pm.

The Election Commission has also scheduled the timetable of complaint filing against the candidacy and final list publication.

Any complaints against the aspiring candidates can be filed on Tuesday (April 4) and probe into each complaint will be conducted on Wednesday. While the initial list of the candidates will be published on the same day.

If anyone wishes to withdraw her/his candidacy, they can do so on April 6 from 9am to 1pm. The Election Commission has said that the publication of the final list of candidates and the allocation of electoral symbols will be done on the same day.
