Kathmandu: The budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2080/81 bs is being presented in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to answer questions raised on the budget of various bodies at the beginning of the meeting of the House of Representatives scheduled to be held at 11 am today.
The discussion on the Appropriation Bill will continue in today’s meeting. PM Dahal is scheduled to answer the questions raised on the Appropriation (Budget) Bill 2080 BS.
Prime Minister is scheduled to reply to the budget allocated to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Office of the Vice President and National Planning Commission.
Then there is the agenda to present the budget for decision to pass. However, the government is in trouble as lawmakers of the ruling party are saying that they will not allow the budget to be passed without amending it. Unified Samajwadi Party lawmaker Rajendra Pandey has already threatened not to accept the party’s whip.
Similarly, some lawmakers of the Nepali Congress have also said that the budget should be amended. However, Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that some of the dissatisfaction in the budget will be addressed through other means but the budget will not be amended.
Finance Minister Mahat had presented a budget of Rs 1,751.31 billion for the next fiscal year.
