Court orders to keep accused ones, including Top Bahadur-Balkrishna, in remand

Kathmandu: Kathmandu District Court has ordered to keep the accused arrested in remand, involved in the fake Bhutanese refugee scandal case.

As per the directions of the court, the accused ones including former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, government secretary (suspended) Tek Narayan Pandey, Indrajit Rai, security advisor to the then Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa have been remanded.

Likewise, Teknath Rijal, Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Ang Tawa Sherpa, Samsher Miya, Sandeep Rayamajhi, Sandesh Sharma, Sagar Rai, Ramsharan KC, Narendra KC, Gobinda Chaudhary, and Haribhakta Maharjan have also been jailed.

The court directed to release of Laxmi Maharjan and Tanka Gurung on bail. The court has directed to keep 5 lakh rupees and 10 lakh rupees as bail for Maharjan and Gurung respectively.

12 people are still absconding in this case. Nepal Police has been searching for the absconded ones. Keshab Tuladhar, Ashok Pokhrel, Dhiren Rai, Deepa Humagani, Neeraj Rai, Rajesh Aryal, Mohanraj Rai, Ashish Budathoki, Binita Sabden Limbu, Niranjan Kumar Kharel, Sunil Budathoki, and Pratik Thapa are the absconding ones.
